Went in to rent a Saxophone today after my Daughter from New York contacted the store (Miguel) yesterday regarding rental for our Granddaughter as she’s spending the summer with us. Eric helped us today with contract and pick up. Very pleasant and made it an easy process. Eric let my Granddaughter play some other instruments while we were in the store. Over the past week, I have had a wonderful experience at Gottschalk Music Center. My first purchase was a Taylor GS Mini guitar for my kids to share. I worked with Matt and he went above and beyond to get me set up. This week I returned to purchase a Fishman amp and an Eastman guitar for myself. I love supporting local companies, especially when they go out of their way to take care of you. All of the employees at the store are knowledgeable and welcoming. Bottom line—they make instrument shopping fun. Also, their prices are impressive. You’d expect big box companies to offer the best deals, but this is not the case here. Gottschalk prices were better than what I could find elsewhere. This is my new spot 🙂 — David Gejeian
1000% Positive Experience from the time I called this little gem of a shop, to the time we decided on a Cello outfit. I am from out of the area. After telling them what I needed for my son, they were quick to help. They opened their doors a half hour earlier at a convenience to me because of my drive and schedule. They had numerous bows and cellos laid out for my son. They allowed him to take what he needed home to test over a period of time and answered ALL questions thoroughly. Also? When we had an issue in taking home the wrong bow, they sent someone to drive all the way to my area to switch it out with the correct one. Every single employee here goes above and beyond to make sure you get all the information you need and are happy with your purchase. A very special shout out to both Desiree and Matthew.

Great attention and service. They were very familiar with the local band director’s recommendations and let my daughter try out the clarinets before purchase. We were upgrading her instrument, and they have everything from student to professional grades. They gave us a really fair price as well. Very very helpful! I went in to buy a new bow for my cello and everyone there was so friendly and helpful. They also had a good selection to choose from, which I greatly appreciated because it’s hard to find so many options for my instrument. Most other places I went to had a bow or two for me to look at (I couldn’t even test them), but Gottschalk had several for me to choose from and even let me try them out in store with some of the cellos they had. They obviously had lots of guitars and electric basses, but I was impressed with how much they had for orchestral instruments; I also got some rosin and for cellos, they had like ten different rosins to choose from!! I don’t know why I haven’t been shopping for the needs of my instrument here! I’ll definitely be going back!! –Ajax Hanson
