Band & Orchestra Service
Our full service repair shop can take in any instrument from student level saxophones to hand crafted violin’s. Our highly skilled repair technicians provide a multitude of services and always approach each project with the same level of professionalism and care! We take in customer repairs as well as service schools all over the Central Valley. Summer is typically our busiest time in the repair shop as we receive hundreds of school repairs in the span of a few days! Below is a general list of services that we offer for band and orchestra instruments. It is always best to bring your instrument in to be assessed by a technician since each project is unique and has its set of problems and solutions. If the service you need is not listed we may still be able to help so feel free to give us a call!
Woodwinds Services

Playing Condition: Minimum amount of work to put the instrument into a playable condition. Worst offending issues rectified, minimum amount of materials replaced, no cleaning performed, and it may be suggested to return instrument at later date for more involved service. 

Regulate and Adjust: All pads are checked for wear, tears, and leakage. Pads are replaced as needed. Mouthpiece cleaned and sanitized. All corks are replaced or adjusted as needed. Key height is adjusted and bent keys realigned. All cases are vacuumed. Instruments are adjusted, lubricated, and play tested before returned.

Clean, Oil, & Adjust:  All services in Regulate and Adjust are performed. In addition, keys are removed from the body and the body is ultrasonically cleaned. Keys are then cleaned, keys and mechanism are oiled and installed, and the whole mechanism is adjusted. 

Re-Pad: All services in Playing Condition and in addition all pads are replaced using either synthetic or traditional pad options. 

Overhaul: The overhaul process includes all of the COA services and re-pad repairs. Keywork and body issues are addressed. Instrument is completely disassembled, cleaned, polished, and reassembled. Instrument is not refinished. 

Brass Services

Playing Condition: Instrument will have all stuck slides broken free, corks and felts changes. Instrument ill be lubed and play tested. Mouthpiece will be cleaned and polished. Instrument will receive an ultrasonic cleaning but no further work. 

Clean and Service:
Valved brass: Instrument disassembled and cycled through ultrasonic cleaner. Inner bored are machine polished and outer surfaces of slide tubes polished. All valve felts are replaced and rotors restrung. Rotor bumpers and springs replaced as needed. Slides are checked for alignment and smooth action, valves are lubricated with high grade synthetic lubricants and slides are greased. Instruments are play tested. Cases vacuumed. Mouthpieces checked, cleaned, and buffed or and polished. Mouthpiece shanks are straightened if needed. 

Trombone: Similar to above. After ultrasonic cleaner, hand slide is checked for minor dents and repaired as needed. Barrel corks/felts are replaced. All bored are polished using the same process for valved instruments. Alignment choked, the slide is disassembled and tested for feel and action. 

Mechanical Overhaul: Insturment is disassembled to allow work on damaged area. Instrument is then reassembled and very carefully re-soldered where required. Soldered areas ar spot buffed and touch-up lacquer or silver plating is applied as needed. Clean and service is performed. *Overhauls are quote on a case to case basis, depending on repaid needs.*

Strings Services

We are proud to be able to offer complete service options for all string instruments from re-corking of chinrests to restorations of vintage instruments. For pricing estimates on repair jobs, we recommend bringing in your stringed instrument so our technician can evaluate it.
